Symphony Chamber Ensemble Registration

We are excited that you have formed a chamber ensemble! Use the form below to register your chamber ensemble after reviewing the information below.

Ensembles

We will support the following standard chamber ensembles:

String Quartet: 2 violins, viola, cello
Woodwind Quintet: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn
Brass Quintet: 2 trumpets, horn, trombone, tuba

What GTCYS Provides

Chamber ensembles accepted into the program receive:

Complimentary professional coaching with members of the Minnesota Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, or other professional musicians.
Assistance with repertoire selection
Performance opportunities throughout the season

We encourage ensembles to prepare a variety of repertoire, including standard chamber literature and accessible selections such as pop and film music that are well-suited for community performances. GTCYS can provide repertoire as needed!

Expectations

To participate, all members of the ensemble must be enrolled in Symphony. Once accepted, your ensemble should:

Rehearse independently 4–6 times per semester outside of GTCYS
Commit to performing at 1–2 community events during the season
Attend all coaching sessions, which take place 5:30–6:30pm before your orchestra rehearsal on:
- November 23
- December 7
- January 25
- March 1
Submit a 2–3 minute video by October 30 demonstrating the ensemble’s readiness for public performances
