Student Leadership Team

Students from all 11 GTCYS orchestras form the Student Leadership Team. In bi-monthly meetings led by GTCYS’ Community Engagement Liaison Dan Mollick, members share ideas, collaborate, practice and develop leadership skills, and provide feedback to GTCYS staff and conductors.

Responsibilities

As a member of Student Leadership Team, you will…

  • Engage and collaborate with members of other orchestras
  • Practice and develop leadership skills both in team meetings and in your orchestra
  • Get feedback from your GTCYS peers and share with the team
  • Make announcements in your orchestra rehearsals
  • Plan, work on, and complete student-driven projects
  • Provide feedback to GTCYS staff and conductors

We ask that you:

  • Commit to two meetings per month on Wednesday evenings from 6:30–7:30pm
  • Be open to sharing ideas, working with and listen to others, being your authentic self, and acting as a positive representative for both the leadership team and your GTCYS orchestra!
