Uma Bhati, ’18
GTCYS alum and newest board member Uma Bhati began her journey in Sinfonia, working her way up to Symphony and culminating in a capstone tour to Eastern Europe by the end of her seven years in GTCYS.
After high school, Uma went on to study economics at the University of Southern California. She now lives in New York, working in investment strategy for Goldman Sachs’ Wealth Management Division. In addition to her volunteer work on GTCYS’ Board of Directors, she is a proud alumnus and active member of the organization Girls Who Invest. She also remains involved in the arts as a member of the Apollo Circle at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Uma’s favorite GTCYS memory is from Symphony’s 2018 tour to Germany, Poland, and Hungary. She fondly remembers attending a Berlin Philharmonic concert conducted by Simon Rattle, where she was seated right in front of Angela Merkel in the audience! You can see Uma (bottom left) and fellow Symphony students in this photo taken in the Berliner Philharmonie lobby.
Thank you, Uma, for giving back to GTCYS as a board member and active member of our alumni community!
