Our Rehearsal:

Tonight we had out penultimate rehearsal before Fall Festival! We are in full steam ahead making sure these pieces are ready to go, so don’t let up on the gas!

You also found out tonight about our planned combined piece with Concertino East to conclude our December Concert. You can listen to that piece here.

GTCYS 10: 

We have A LOT of music ahead of us that needs some work if we are going to have a successful December concert! Please use your GTCYS 10 every other day to play through your folder so nothing catches us off guard!

Your GTCYS 10 is also to make sure you have all of the updated changes we made in rehearsal in your music so that you can practice all of them before next week. Here are most of them below:

Updates from Rehearsal:

Angel City:

• Brass: the intro needs a bit of love before next rehearsal, we will practice that a few times at least, just fyi.
• Cellos, fast reset in measure 4 into the tremolo in 5, on the and of 4 you should lift.
• Also cellos, thank you for playing lighter! Keep it up!
• Violins use their ENTIRE bows pick up into 9
• More brass at 33 (you’re with violas and 2nds)
• Violins need to match slurred 8^thnotes at 54
• We added a subito to the piano at 85
• We need to keep 150 still light although it is big and bold

Celebrazione Sinfonia!

• Oboes need to make a full phrase at measure 9 (remember: make the audience not know where the bar lines are).
• More flute everywhere in the beginning, every dynamic can go up a level.
• Violins, breathe before measure 30 please, it makes all the difference for our new tempo.
• Violins and Violas, measure 62 on beat 2 is an up bow, so that 63’s beat 2 is a down bow
• 1^stviolins on the upper part at 70, switch to up bow in 71 to fill out the whole note
• Brass: make 111 the most important thing EVER! It sounds great, but let’s go for an even more rich and warm sound.
• 136 subito piano will only work if you subdivide the two measures before it
