Letter from Tamara (9/17)

I am really grateful to everyone for their hard work and focus during rehearsal last night. We are working on some really challenging music and by the end of rehearsal we made some significant gains.

As I mentioned in rehearsal, I am asking each member of the orchestra to listen to the concert playlist at least three times before our next rehearsal. This should be active listening, with your part in hands and counting all your rests and rhythms. Please notice parts that look challenging and spend a few minutes making them feel easier. I will assign specific practice sections next week.

This is a reminder that all students must bring their own music stands to rehearsal. Last night I had to rack up 18 music stands after rehearsal. Please bring your own music stand and if you happen to forget and borrow a stand, you must rack them back properly or I will no longer allow students to borrow them (except for percussion and string bass).
