Hey Philharmonia East,
Nice work at sectionals this week. Thanks to our coaches Jesús, Mr. Leung and cello dude (Greg) for working with us. We have two more rehearsals before Fall Festival. I hope that you are getting excited to perform in Orchestra Hall!
This week, we played through one of our holiday pieces. At our next rehearsal, we will play through two more of our holiday pieces, Who Can Retell and Burgundian Carol. We will continue to work on improving our listening skills, the number one skill needed to play in any ensemble.
Our pieces use several different key signatures. Can you correctly play the finger patterns for C Major, G Major and D Major? Play each of these scales throughout the week. In addition to reviewing your scales, play through the C Major section of Caprice three times (letter C-E).
