Letter from Mrs. Hebert (11/2)

Sinfonia West,

ONE rehearsal to go!!!

We are in a good spot for Fall Festival, but we talked about how we need EVERYONE to commit to practicing every day for 10 minutes on GTCYS music as we still have progress to make. We also agreed that if we don’t practice, we don’t just stay the same, but we get worse!

I know you are all ready to dive into new music (you can take a glance at the two new ones), but please spend time polishing our two pieces: Slavonic Legend and Waltz of the Wicked.

This week:

Slavonic Legend: Set your metronome (126: quarter note). Check all the details (notes, articulation (staccatos etc), bowing, dynamics

Waltz of the Wicked: The middle section needs to be mastered! Strings- play with a metronome (128: quarter note). Cellos, make sure you know your gliss. Section! You can listen and play with the recording to help you. Check all the details (notes, articulation (staccatos etc), bowing, dynamics

I can’t wait to get all concert ready with you all on Monday!

Keep up the great work

Mrs. Hebert
