Letter from Jack (9/21)

Dear Concert Orchestra,

Thank you for a fast-paced, meaningful, and productive few days!

I am so impressed with your work ethic, willingness to try new things, and generosity of spirit. Let’s keep the ball rolling with some great practice as we head into next week’s rehearsal!

NEXT WEEK: Wind, brass, and percussion players will have separate sectionals. Students, please come prepared to learn from these excellent teachers.

STRINGS: We will have a laser-focused rehearsal in the following places:

Scherzo Fantasy:

• Rehearsal I to the end of the piece! (Note that rehearsal M (“adagio”) is a string feature. You might pay special attention to this section AND rehearsal T to the end.

Mozart:

• Measure 103 to the end of the piece

Any left over time will be put into Bizet and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.

I’m looking forward to seeing you (dutifully prepared) at next week’s rehearsal!

Jack.
