GTCYS Concerto Competition Winners Announced

Congratulations to Brad Gibson and Grace Weitzel, this year’s Concerto Competition winners who will perform with Symphony in 2022. Brad will perform the first movement of Dvořák’s Concerto in B minor for cello, and Grace will perform Prokofiev’s Concerto No. 1 for violin. For Grace, this is a dream come true. “Performing one of my favorite pieces as a soloist with a full orchestra, with many of my close friends, is such an incredible and unique opportunity that has long been an aspiration of mine,” she says. On winning the competition, Brad says, “It’s an incredible honor as all of the other contestants in the competition were extremely talented and equally deserving.” Bravo to the other finalists Ruth Conry, Christian Garner, and Lorelei Schoenhard on fantastic performances!
