Abha Karnick, ’15
10 years after her time in GTCYS, violinist and alum Abha Karnick is following a path that balances both her professional and creative interests. She works as a Senior Project Manager at Medtronic in Global Marketing and also produces her own original music (you can find her as Abha K. on all streaming platforms). Based in Minneapolis, she’s a wife and proud cat mom who enjoys long walks, trips to the North Shore, and movie marathons with friends!
Abha credits GTCYS as a foundational part of her identity—she was motivated to become a section leader, challenged musically, and introduced to world-renowned repertoire she never imagined she’d be able to access otherwise. Her favorite memory is her 2014 tour with Symphony to Spain. Ahba shares, “Traveling with my instrument was a new and amazing experience, playing in so many beautiful venues and taking in the culture and people. I have lifelong friends and professional connections because of that trip. It was one for the books!”
