Laurie Hatcher Merz

I have had a busy and successful bassoon studio since graduating from the Eastman School of Music in 1986. I received my Masters in Music Performance in 1992. The Minnesota Opera Orchestra is my main employer, but I also play bassoon in the Minnesota Sinfonia and am an active free-lancer in the area. Lessons with me are thorough. I take great care in discovering the student's learning style, being creative in my teaching and bringing my decades of performing experience to the lessons. I enjoy getting to know my students and their many interests and talents! I also teach contrabassoon.
