Joy Isakson

Joy is a private flute instructor in St. Paul who offers lessons at all levels and teaches in the Cathedral Hill and Crocus Hill neighborhoods of St. Paul. She has over 30 years of teaching experience and enjoys supporting and nurturing her students whatever their musical goals- whether they play in band, orchestra, or simply for their own enjoyment. She loves sharing the joy of music with her students! She earned her Bachelor's degree in music from the University of MN where she studied with Adam Kuenzel and Julia Bogorad. She has served on the board and as president of the Upper Midwest Flute Association. Joy has a great love and care for children and is Mom to 5 very musical children. Both her own children and her students have enjoyed playing in GTCYS!
