As the Student Membership & Volunteer Coordinator, Sara oversees student enrollment and leads volunteer recruitment for all GTCYS concerts, festivals, and Parent Social Crews. Prior to joining GTCYS, she worked at Girl Scouts River Valleys, where she managed their financial assistance program, onboarded new volunteers, and supported membership and data quality initiatives.
Sara holds bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and a Master’s in Advocacy and Political Leadership from Metropolitan State University. A lifelong musician, she played flute and piccolo throughout college, traveled the country with the UMD pep band, and even met her husband in the UMD marching band.
Sara and her husband, Mike, live in Robbinsdale with their cats, Huckle and Berry. In her free time, she enjoys playing board games, visiting museums, and traveling.
