Incoming Harmony Artistic Director & Lead Roots Instructor

Laurie is deeply committed to inspiring individuals of all ages through the transformative power of music education, delivered in a joyful and supportive environment. With over 20 years of private studio teaching experience, she has also spent more than 12 years honing her leadership, business, and teaching skills as an early childhood music education specialist. Since joining GTCYS’ Harmony program as a Teaching Artist in 2018, Laurie has expanded her expertise in group instruction and developed the Harmony Roots curriculum.

Eager to continue growing as an educator, she is currently participating in the 2024–25 Teaching Artist Training Institute Lab Cohort, facilitated by the Miami Music Project. In addition to teaching across the Twin Cities, Laurie is an active freelance violinist, an aspiring multi-instrumentalist, and a parent of three children. She holds a degree in Musicology from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities School of Liberal Arts and is a proud GTCYS alumna.
