Harmony Manager & Violin Instructor
As Harmony Manager, Emily is responsible for Harmony communications, supporting the Harmony Director and faculty, and coordinating GTCYS’ Sponsored Lessons program. She enjoys working with students of all ages and levels but especially loves opening doors to music for Harmony’s young beginners. Emily has a background in classical violin and viola and has worked with students ranging in age from young children to retired seniors. In addition to her work with GTCYS, Emily also teaches private lessons at the Center for Irish Music in St. Paul.
Emily has a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from the University of Puget Sound and an MA in Cultural Policy from Goldsmiths, University of London. She can be found playing fiddle at Irish sessions in the Twin Cities, as a member of MN Fiddlers, and in the viola section of the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, where she is also a Board Member.
