Denise Hernández is a Cuban cellist recognized for her expressive performances and dedication to cultural exchange. A graduate with highest honors from the University of Arts in Havana, she has appeared at world-class venues including Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and the Elbphilharmonie.

Her collaborations include performances with Sarah Willis, Joshua Bell, Sheku Kanneh-Mason at the Napa Valley Festival, Dave Matthews, Chucho Valdés, Samuel Formell, and other leading Cuban musicians.

As co-founder of the Havana Quartet, she has helped expand the chamber music repertoire by premiering works of contemporary Cuban composers and performing internationally. Since moving to Minneapolis–Saint Paul, the quartet has become the quartet-in-residence at CAYO, creating meaningful connections across cultures through music.
