I am entering my third year of being a percussion performance student at the Don Wright Faculty of Music, Western University in London, Ontario, Canada.
What years were you in GTCYS?
2017-2020, graduated in 2020
What is your favorite GTCYS memory?
Going on tour to Eastern Europe with the GTCYS Symphony back in 2018 and being able to attend a Berlin Philharmonic concert for Simon Rattle’s final concert with Krystian Zimmerman on piano.
What skills or lessons did you learn in GTCYS that you still use today?
GTCYS taught me how to go outside of my “comfort zone” and be a more organized, efficient person, and to be a good team player and role model. Through programs such as mentoring and touring, I matured tremendously as a person and musician, and was inspired to be the very best artist and role model I could be.
