Student Leadership Team

The Student Leadership Team gives students a voice in our organization, with opportunities to share ideas, collaborate, and grow as leaders. Our team includes representatives from all 11 orchestras.

As a member, you will:

  • Connect with students from other orchestras
  • Build leadership skills in meetings and your orchestra rehearsals
  • Gather and share feedback from peers
  • Make announcements in rehearsals
  • Work on student-driven projects
  • Provide input to GTCYS staff and conductors

What’s involved?

  • About two meetings per month, Wednesdays 6:30–7:30pm, October through May
  • Most meetings on Zoom; four in-person at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Downtown Minneapolis
  • Attendance matters—up to two absences are allowed
  • Be ready to share ideas, listen, and represent your orchestra positively

How to join:

  • Check the meeting schedule
  • Sign up under your current orchestra (waitlist available if full)
  • Deadline: Wednesday, October 1
