SLT Meeting Summary and Action Items for November 5
Dear Student Leadership Team,
Thank you for another fantastic meeting this week! If you couldn’t attend last night, please review the agenda.
Attendance Reminder
Just a quick reminder: You’re allowed one absence for Semester 1, and I really appreciate it when team members email me ahead of time if they won’t be able to attend. If you’ve already missed one or more meetings, please make every effort to be at our final two meetings of the semester:
- Wednesday, November 26, 6:30-7:30pm – Zoom
- Wednesday, December 10, 6:30-8:00pm – In person at Westminster
Meeting Summary
Jacob West, our Development Coordinator, visited to gather ideas and trends for Fall Festival social media posts. Thank you to everyone who shared suggestions and volunteered to participate!
We also broke into small groups to brainstorm future projects and initiatives for the Student Leadership Team. Thank you to our group leaders for collecting ideas and sharing them with the full group.
If you served as a group leader last night, please email your group’s ideas by the end of this week.

GTCYS Get to Know You Activity (during announcements)
Make sure you meet with your teammates 5-10 minutes before rehearsal to make a plan for who will say which line below!
- Hi again, everyone! We’re members of the Student Leadership Team.
- [Each member introduces themselves and says what instrument they play.]
- Tonight, we’ve got two quick get-to-know-you questions for you!
- First Question:
- Turn to your stand partner or someone sitting nearby and introduce yourselves.
- After you learn each other’s names, ask: “Do you have a cat, dog, another kind of pet, or no pets?”
- [Wait ~30 seconds, then clap 3 times to bring everyone back.]
- Second Question:
- Ask your partner: “Why did you choose to play your instrument?”
- [Wait ~30 seconds, then clap 3 times again.]
- Thanks, everyone! We’d love to hear your best orchestra or music jokes—drop them in the suggestion box this week!
- That’s all for now. Have a great rehearsal!
