SLT Meeting Follow-up and Action Items for March 25
Thanks for another great meeting last night! After we shared some celebrations, we discussed upcoming spring auditions. We also had some group work time. If you missed our meeting, you can view the agenda here.
Action items:
- Sign up for GTCYS Day of Service by tomorrow (Friday, March 27), if you are interested in participating.
- Take 3-5 photos in your orchestra and upload them to our Yearbook Submission Form. I’ve also included this link on our SLT Member page (password: slt25-26) so you can easily find it. Always ask permission before taking a picture!
- Add any suggestions to the Suggestion Form.
- Make the announcement below in your orchestra next week
Announcements for Week of March 30
- Hi everyone! We’d like to start by sharing three practice tips from fellow GTCYS students that can help you prepare for spring auditions:
- Practice slowly… Like really slow!
- Listen to recordings of your solo and the excerpts
- Use different rhythms to tackle tricky spots
- We have two Get to Know You Questions tonight! Discuss with your stand partner or someone sitting close to you. We’ll clap three times when we’re ready for the next question.
- Would you rather have rainy or sunny weather and why? (give students 30 seconds to talk, clap three times)
- What’s your all-time favorite piece to play and why? (give students 30 seconds to talk, clap three times)
- Thanks for participating everyone! Have a great rest of rehearsal!
If you’re not attending GTCYS Day of Service, the next time we’ll see each other is Wednesday, April 29 over Zoom. Thank you for all your amazing work and see you then!
