SLT Meeting Follow-up and Action Items for March 11

Hello Student Leadership Team!

Thanks for a great meeting last night! We reflected on community concerts, seating auditions, and learned about GTCYS Day of Service. We also had some group work time. If you missed our meeting, you can view the agenda here.

Action items:

  • Sign up for GTCYS Day of Service before next Wednesday, March 18, if you are interested in participating.
  • Take 3-5 photos in your orchestra and upload them to our Yearbook Submission Form. I’ve also included this link on our SLT Member page (password: slt25-26) so you can easily find it. Always ask permission before taking a picture!
  • If you missed the meeting this week, please take this Seating Audition Reflection Survey by next Monday, March 16
  • Add any suggestions to the Suggestion Form.
  • Make the announcement below in your orchestra next week

Announcements for Week of March 16

  • Hi everyone! Did you know that you can start practicing for your audition now even though they aren’t due until May 19? You can find all of the audition information on the GTCYS website. Don’t wait until the last minute to start preparing!
  • We have three Get to Know You Questions tonight! Discuss with your stand partner or someone sitting close to you. We’ll clap three times when we’re ready for the next question.
    • What is your musical hot take? (give students 30 seconds to talk, clap three times)
    • If you wanted to live in a movie, which one would you choose? (give students 30 seconds to talk, clap three times)
    • What’s your opinion on the pieces we play in orchestra? (give students 30 seconds to talk, clap three times)
  • Thanks for participating everyone! Have a great rest of rehearsal!

Our next meeting is Wednesday, March 25 over Zoom. Thank you for all your amazing work and see you then!
