SLT Meeting Follow-up and Action Items for February 25
Dear Student Leadership Team,
Thank you for a great meeting this week! We met in-person and we tried a new social activity called “High, Low, Buffalo.” It was fun to learn about other people in a different way and thank you to Violet for leading this activity! After pizza and socializing, Miranda and I shared some updates and then we worked in our project groups. I’ll have more details about GTCYS Day of Service in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
Project Updates:
- Ambassadors Team completed their project and reflections on how we can improve next year.
- Donation Drive Team made a social media reel to help promote giving back to the community.
- Yearbook Team finalized photographers for each orchestra and made a list of photos they would like. I’ll be in touch with yearbook photographers soon!
- Get to Know You Team put together the two discussion questions for next week’s rehearsals.
- Spirit Night Team decided to postpone our first Spirit Night to April (we don’t want our Open Rehearsal guests to feel out of place!). They also worked on some fun themes for next season.
Action Items:
- Make the announcement below next week in your orchestra.
- Invite your friends to our upcoming Open Rehearsals:
- To ensure we have music for them, ask your friends to RSVP using this link.
- Friends are welcome to observe if they aren’t comfortable jumping in and playing.
- Take and upload any pictures you take to this link. You can upload up to 10 pictures at a time.
- Record any suggestions using this form.

- Get to Know You Questions
- We have two Get to Know You questions tonight! We’ll ask you a question and you’ll have one minute to discuss with someone near you. We’ll clap three times to let you know when time is up.
- First, if you didn’t play your current instrument, what would you play instead and why? (give them a minute to discuss and clap three times to get everyone’s attention.
- Our second and last question is, what’s your favorite fruit and why?
- Thank you everyone for participating tonight! Have a great rest of rehearsal!
Our next meeting is Wednesday, March 11, 6:30-7:30pm on Zoom.
See you then!
