Piano Player Auditions for String Players Only

Greetings Concert Orchestra STRING PLAYERS,

At least two of our pieces this semester include intensive parts for piano. If you are an accomplished pianist, please send me an email indicating your interest in playing piano for one (or both) of these pieces. This opportunity is for string players only since we need every wind, brass, and percussion players to be covering their assigned part.

Should you be chosen, you would need to be okay with not playing your string instrument for the piece that you play piano.

Here is the process:

1.) Email me indicating interest in playing one or BOTH piano parts.

2.) Prepare the following excerpts for OVERTURE FOR THE END OF A CENTURY (see the part here)

• Rehearsal C to D
• Rehearsal E to F
• Rehearsal L to N

3.) Prepare the following excerpts for DANZON no. 2 (see the part here)

• Mm. 1 to 19
• Mm. 94 to 120
• Mm 164-198

4.) Plan to audition for me before or after rehearsal on MONDAY, January 26th. Email me your preference for an audition time (BEFORE or AFTER rehearsal).
