Letter from Tamara (2/19)

I don’t know about you Concertino East, but I am getting excited to for our performance next weekend.

There were some real musical highs during our rehearsal this evening. Please focus on Old Castle and Bydlo, doing your best to keep a steady tempo throughout. Old Castle will be performed at about 156= 8th note, and Bydlo at about 94=8th note. For reference, Gnome will be performed at around 160=8th note.

My other practice request for the week is to please practice Superior at least once this week with the metronome at 66= quarter note. As I was joking at the end of rehearsal, Superior is sounding less like Lake Superior and more like a small neighborhood lake or pond. Please be as specific as possible in practicing the dynamics and aiming for precision on every “wave”.
