Hello Concertino,

It was great popping into all of the sectional rooms last night. You were all hard at work, and I’m sure we will hear the results of that woodshedding when we are together rehearsing next week.

Please focus mostly on Danse Macabre, with particular attention to intonation, articulations and tempo. It is crucial that we are making the staccato notes separate and distinct from each other throughout this piece. Pitch is a big challenge in this piece with the many dissonances and chromatic passages. I heard great progress on this in your sectional rooms. Please keep up that progress through personal practice.

Seating auditions are in three weeks. All students will take an audition, even if they play in a section of 1. This is a great opportunity to work towards a goal, practice getting a little nervous, and receive feedback on your playing.
