Letter from Tamara (1/29)

Thanks to everyone for taking full advantage of you time with coaches, and to students who logged on to ask me for support in their home practice.

If you know that you won’t be able to attend next week, please plan on recording your audition and submitting an absence report.

Students should be prepared to play their excerpts from Bydlo, Promenade and Gnome at the following tempos:

• Bydlo 94=8th note
• Promenade 76=quarter note
• Gnome 3/4 Vivo sections are at 200= quarter note and the 4/4 Meno Mosso sections are at 84=quarter note.

Clarinets should prepare The Old Castle from A to E at 124= 8th note. I will choose the three strongest auditions to play these solos at the concert.

Please listen to the GTCYS Symphony performance to get a strong sense of how each movement goes. This will transform your own playing of the notes and improve our group performance.
