Letter from Ms. Mary (5/4)
Hey Philharmonia West!
We are ready! Spring Festival is this weekend. Woohoo!!! This weekend will be a celebration of the work that has been done throughout the course of the year. As you prepare for this weekend, can you think of some of the areas in which you have improved? Technique, ensemble skills, overall musicianship…I think there has been improvement in all these areas for everyone. Thank you for your individual work at home, as well as our Monday evening rehearsals.
Just a few final reminders:
- The call time is 8:30am on Saturday.
- Concert dress is all black.
- Our repertoire is March from The Meistersingers, An African-American Air, and Turbulence.
- Jupiter is the finale. All students from all orchestras will be performing this piece. A reminder that this piece will be performed from memory. You did a great job at our rehearsal this week. You got this!
An email has been sent with the specific details for this concert. Please check your email for this information.
We will be meeting next week, Monday, May 11th. This will be our end-of-the-year celebration. Food, fun and time to look back on our year in Philharmonia. We will also be turning in our music. Please bring your folders. We will meet from 6:30-7:30 pm at our usual rehearsal venue, the Edina Senior Center. No instruments are needed for this.
Question of the week: What will you do right after the concert on Saturday? Send in those responses to mary@gtcys.org.
Have a great week. I can’t wait for the concert! See you on Saturday.
Work hard, play hard.
