Letter from Ms. Mary (4/27)

Hey Philharmonia West,

We have one more rehearsal before Spring Festival.  Thank you for your focus and hard work this week.  How fun it was to spend a little time composing and improvising a new piece.  The biggest thing that I heard during our time with our composer was that your sight-reading skills have improved so much this year! I know that Ms. Koller had a great time with us, being able to hear what the measures were that created.

Ms. Koller

Before next week, I would ask that each section work on these specific measures:

  • Violin 1
    • March of the Meistersingers, letter D to E. Play this a minimum of 6 times.
  • Violin 2
    • An African-American Air, measures 20-32. Play this a minimum of 6 times.
  • Viola
    • March of the Meistersingers, letter E to the end. Play this a minimum of 6 times.
  • Cello
    • March of the Meistersingers, beginning to letter B. Play this a minimum of 6 times.

Can you all spend a few extra minutes each day playing Jupiter?

Question of the week: What is your call-time for Spring Festival?

Parents: If you missed the audition information meeting at the end of rehearsal last week, you can view the information I shared here.

Weather permitting, we will play Jupiter outside next week.  Let’s hope for sunny weather.

Have a great week. Work hard, play hard.
