Letter from Ms. Mary (4/21)
Great rehearsal this week!
Thank you for being such wonderful hosts for our Harmony families, as well as having an awesome snack night.
We are heading into the final weeks of our year together. We have two more rehearsals and then it is Spring Festival! Here is what is happening in the coming weeks:
- April 28: Sinfonia East and Philharmonia East perform for each other
- May 5: Final rehearsal before Spring Festival
- May 10: Spring Festival
- May 12: End-of-Year Party
This week, we focused on F Major, and that last section in March Triumphant. Please take time before our next rehearsal to go through measures 25 to the end in March Triumphant. F Major has 1 flat, and that is B flat. F Major has no sharps! Continue to work on Jupiter. Practice this slowly! All three flats need to be observed! We will continue to work on this. Perform this for someone at home. Imagine playing this with 300 other musicians at Orchestra Hall (that is what it will be like at Spring Festival).
Question of the week: How many measures of Jupiter do you have memorized? Send those answers to mary@gtcys.org.
Share your music with someone.
Work hard, play hard.
Can’t wait for our next rehearsal!
