Congratulations Philharmonia East!

Nice job at our concert at Johanna Shores! Shout out to our student speakers who introduced our pieces.  Our concert covered a wide variety of styles and musical periods.  You played with a full sound, dynamic contrasts, and a variety of articulations.  It was a lovely evening!

Spring Festival is our next and final concert of the year.  We have three more rehearsals until then.  The repertoire for Spring Festival is:

• March Triumphant
• Where the River Shannon Flows
• Jubilee Fanfare
• Jupiter

For our next rehearsal, we will focus on March Triumphant and Jupiter.  Please take time this week to review March Triumphant, especially measures 25 to the end.

Question of the week: What key is the second part of March Triumphant? Think about what scale would be played with one flat.  Send your answer to mary@gtcys.org.  There will be something extra before rehearsal next week for those students who reply.

Remember that audition videos are due May 19th.  If you have questions about the audition, you can email them to me or see me before rehearsal.  Keep working on those scales, excerpt and solo.  You got this!
