Letter from Ms. Mary (4/1)
Hey Philharmonia East,
Thanks for your work this week. Our concert is on April 14th and I am excited that we will be able to share so many pieces with our audience at Johanna Shores.
This week we focused on dynamics. What a difference when we add all of the dynamics to our playing. Our aim is to be dynamic players all of the time!
Next week is a sectional rehearsal. We will spend most of our time on March of Die Meistersingers and Where the River Shannon Flows. We will also play through all of our concert pieces at the end of our rehearsal. The practice challenge for you this week is:
Memorize from letter B to C. See how much of it you can play without the music. You got this! Play this section for me before rehearsal to claim your reward!
Our concert repertoire for April 14 is:
- Jubilee Fanfare
- Where the River Shannon Flows
- Accents
- March of the Meistersingers
- Merengue del Primer Dedo
In addition to the memorization challenge, review any of the pieces of your choice from the list above. Remember those dynamics!
Question of the week: What are your thoughts about April Fools Day?
Have a great week. Work hard, play hard.
