Letter from Ms. Mary (3/24)
Hey Philharmonia East,
What an amazing night we had this week. The focus into our rehearsal resulted in some of the most beautiful Philharmonia playing EVER! Thank you for using our time together as an opportunity to work together and create beautiful music.
Here is what is on the calendar for the next few weeks:
- March 31: Regular rehearsal
- April 7: Sectionals
- April 14: Concert at Johanna Shores
- April 21: Special visitors at our rehearsal
- April 28: Regular rehearsal
- May 5: Regular rehearsal
- May 10: Spring Festival
- May 12: End of the year party
This week, the dynamics and expression that you played with were amazing. There was so much contrast in the sound and volume. Each of our pieces was so much more interesting. Think about this as you are playing at home this week.
The repertoire for our concert on April 14 is:
Jubilee Fanfare
Where the River Shannon Flows
Accents
March of the Meistersingers
Merengue del Primer Dedo
Before our next rehearsal, I would ask that you focus on two things:
- March of The Meistersingers, the beginning to letter C
- Where the River Shannon Flows, measure 20 to the end
Are you playing with the same contrast and sound that we had at our rehearsal? How is your posture? Make that your goal every time you play. How we practice is how we perform. How we practice is how we perform. How we practice is how we perform…
Have a great week. Can’t wait for our next rehearsal. Work hard, play hard.
