Letter from Ms. Mary (3/3)
Hey Philharmonia East!
Super fun night this week. It was nice to have visitors playing with us, as well as it being a snack night. I special thank you to those of you who brought friends and/or treats!
I want to again say CONGRATULATIONS and BRAVO for a job well done at our concert this past weekend. How great it was to combine forces and share with our audience what we have been working on. Thank you for working so hard in our rehearsals. It truly paid off at our concert.
We are moving forward with our repertoire for Spring Festival. For the next few weeks, we will focus on March Triumphant and Where the River Shannon Flows. In preparation for these pieces, the scales we will focus on are C and F Major. Th listening link to Where the River Shannon Flows can be found here. We talked about slower pieces being more difficult than faster pieces. Take time to listen to the link this week. Slow bows and listening to other sections will be what we spend much of our time on in our next rehearsal.
Please review these passages before next Tuesday:
March Triumphant: measures 1-17
Where the River Shannon Flows: measures 1-20
Question of the week (choose one): What was your favorite part of the concert this past weekend? What is your favorite footwear?
Have a great week. Work hard, play hard.
Mary Sorlie
