Letter from Ms. Mary (2/10)
Hey Philharmonia East,
Nice work at our sectional rehearsal this week. What a special treat to have a performance by Greg Byers, playing some amazing improvisation for us. The are so many different genres and ways to play our instruments. I hope that you were inspired by our musical interlude!
We have two rehearsals before our combined concert on February 28. We will be performing:
- Hop, Skip, and Jump
- Jubilee Fanfare
- Draw the Circle Wide
- Merengue del Primer Dedo
You have made good progress in Draw the Circle Wide and Hop, Skip, and Jump. At home this week, I would like you to focus on Jubilee Fanfare. Please continue our practice technique of chunking by playing the following sections as many times as needed: measures 21-28, 28-41, 103-114 and 114 to the end.
As Valentines Day is this week, there are two questions of the week that are somewhat related to February 14.
- What do you think of when you see the color red?
- What is one thing that you LOVE doing?
