Letter from Mrs. Hebert (4/6)
Sinfonia West,
We really started to make MUSIC on Monday. Keep up the great work!
We only have 4 rehearsals. If you struggled with the tempo or had difficulty with notes and rhythms, this is your week to learn and master your part up to tempo. With only 4 rehearsals left, we have a lot to do to make our music spectacular.
Here are the tempo markings and specifics to work on this week.
Capriccio Espagnol: 110: quarter note. For those of you with 16th notes, this one will take a bit more practice! CRISP! Is the word for this piece. Add dynamics and phrasing throughout.
Go West!:
Beginning= 152: quarter note
Measure 40= 120: quarter note
Measure 84= 120: quarter note
Measure 106= 152: quarter note
Please know your part inside and out for all the transitions in this piece. You will need to watch for these changes. This piece has a lot of accents and fun details that bring the music alive. Don’t just play through your piece, instead, work on small sections to ensure you have correct bowings, dynamics, and articulations.
Happy Practicing!
Mrs. Hebert
