Letter from Mrs. Hebert (4/13)

Sinfonia West,

I heard a lot of great work in sectionals on Monday! Thank you for being respectful and working hard!

Each coach worked on a lot of specifics for your particular section. Please practice and master these sections. Also, check your tempo with a metronome! The sectional coaches gave a lot of great feedback like “Don’t hold the quarter note too long, make sure the rest is short etc”, but more individual work with a metronome will greatly help!

A few sectional coaches asked if you had been practicing (which is a hint of saying this needs more work). If you heard that from your coach, take that as a challenge to really MASTER your piece.

Ask yourself this question:  If I was asked to play any section up to tempo as a solo with correct notes, rhythm, and articulation, could I?? 

Treat our upcoming Monday rehearsal like the concert! Practice hard this week as if you were performing on Monday.
