Letter from Mrs. Hebert (3/23)

Sinfonia West,
We had another great, productive rehearsal on Monday. THANK YOU for all of you who have committed to practicing and learning your music.

REMINDER: your goal is to have your notes and rhythms completely learned by next rehearsal!

We already started to add dynamics and phrasing- great job!!!
Here are your practice goals:

1. Capriccio Espagnol- Work on getting this one up to tempo! We are aiming for 110-114 for our concert. Really work on the style as well. Think CRISP for all the sticattos
2. Go West!- Brass, this one is a challenging key again (sorry!). Please double-check that you are playing all the correct sharps. It is fine to write in fingerings or sharps to help remind yourself. Everyone can look through this piece to master any difficult passages. This one will require you to know your part inside and out so you can watch for all the transitions.
3. Jupiter- I encourage you to listen to a GTCYS recording on Youtube so you can see how your part fits together.

I can’t wait to make music with all of you next week!
Mrs. Hebert
