Letter from Mrs. Hebert (3/2)
Sinfonia West,
Bravo on a great concert this past weekend! You were focused for the entire concert and really gave it your all. Great job!
We all agreed that the few weeks leading up to our concert we felt the pressure of getting our pieces in tip top shape. In order to not feel that way for our next concert, the best thing each of you can do is start to practice our new pieces right away.
We will only perform TWO pieces at our next concert, but we will be working on four for the next few weeks as I continue to figure out which pieces will fit us best.
These will be in Sinfonia West’s Dropbox folder soon! Here are the recordings of all four pieces:
- Symphony No. 8 (currently in folders)
- Nocturne (currently in folders)
- Go West! (coming soon)
- Capriccio Espagnol (coming soon)
We have our open rehearsal next week! Wear GTCYS Garb if you have any! For those of you who have volunteered to play part of your audition, come ready to play!
Additionally: A student photographer is needed to take pictures for Sinfonia West for our GTCYS Digital Yearbook! We’re looking for a reliable and creative student who is comfortable taking candid photos of all students — not just friends. If you are interested, please email Dan Mollick at dan@gtcys.org.
Happy Practicing!
Mrs. Hebert
