Letter from Mrs. Hebert (11/24)
Sinfonia West,
Thanks for your hard work and good attitudes at rehearsal this past week! We were able to accomplish a lot. I am excited for all of you to share your music with the residents at Friendship Village!
I want you to rest and enjoy time with friends and family this week, BUT it will greatly help us prepare for our concert if you could carve out a few practice sessions. We only have 1 rehearsal to go
Parents and Guardians: We will put on a “mini concert” for all of you at 7:45pm NEXT Monday. We will play our three holiday tunes for you since our upcoming concert is just for the residents at Friendship Village
Here are your goals:
- Rock the Bells: 132= Quarter note. Please practice at this tempo. Continue to work on your rhythms and dynamics. This is a crowd favorite!
- A Festive Fanfare: Trumpets and low brass- great work at the beginning! Continue to play out and check your key signatures. We can’t do this piece without you! Strings- continue to work on the 16th notes. Everyone needs to check dynamics and phrasing to make it more musical
- A Holiday Celebration: If you have the melody, play out. Check your dynamics throughout
- Voyager: 132=Quarter note. Keep working on the tempo and dynamics
- Dance of Tumblers and Cumberland Cross: Run through a few times to keep them fresh.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy some time off!
See you next Monday
Mrs. Hebert
