Letter from Mrs. Hebert (11/17)
Sinfonia West,
Bravo on an excellent concert! Your hard work and dedication paid off. We made some beautiful music together and I can’t wait to continue to make progress together as a group!
We are now getting ready for our community outreach concert.
This concert is quite different than playing at Orchestra Hall, but is just as meaningful so let’s continue to strive for excellence!
Here are the pieces we are performing (not in this order)
- A Holiday Celebration
- A Festive Fanfare
- Rock the Bells
- Voyager
- Dance of the Tumblers
- Cumberland Cross
Please spend time on the holiday tunes and Voyager this week.
Brass, woodwinds, percussion- this is a remind to be quite and respectful during rehearsal. It sounds like there were a lot of side conversations throughout sectionals on Monday. I know some of it was on topic, but it can be distracting for those around you when you are talking and it takes away from learning from our amazing sectional coaches.
This is also a friendly reminder that even though a piece might not be your favorite, it is important to do your best and strive to play it to the best of your ability. Saying comments about your dislike of a given piece doesn’t help the group and we want to be encouraging to everyone! This an outreach concert so it’s all about encouraging the residents and bringing some holiday cheer to them!
Thank you to those of you who are jumping into our new music with both feet!
I look forward to our rehearsal next week!
Mrs. Hebert.
