Letter from Mr. Larson (2/3)

Sinfonia East Students and Families,

Many thanks to the student’s hard work during sectionals this week. It is always great to get the extra attention in sectionals, I look forward to the next few weeks where we will all be working together in preparation for our next performance on Feb. 28.

Feb. 28 concert program will be:

Glorioso
Bratislava
Havana

I hope you all saw the announcement that our concert from December at Boutwell’s Landing was rescheduled for Tuesday, April 21. At this performance we will be able to perform as many pieces as we have ready since we are the only orchestra at the concert. We will discuss options late March/early April and have a possible vote to decide what we perform, but we could potentially perform everything from the Feb. 28 concert as well as Finale, It’s About Time, and Highlights from Harry Potter.

For your GTCYS 10 this week:

Focus on the work you did during sectionals this week. As always, pay attention to the details (notes, rhythms, articulations, dynamics). The details bring the music to life and make it much more interesting.
