Letter from Mr. Larson (1/27)

Sinfonia East Students and Families,

We have had a busy couple of weeks starting the new music, but now we are only four rehearsals away from our next performance! We are in good shape, but we still have work to do.

Next week we have string sectionals and a winds/brass/percussion coach to help us dig into the details to help us be ready for our performance on Feb. 28. While we prepare for this performance we also need to be looking ahead at what we may perform later. I want the main focus to be on Glorioso, Bratislava, and Havana. However, with your extra time I want you to listen to and practice It’s about Time, Harry Potter, and Finale.

For your GTCYS 10 this week:

  • Bratislava and Havana
  • Glorioso
  • Counting – Dynamics – Phrasing within your part (will be worked on at next week’s rehearsal)
  • It’s About Time
  • Review Time After Time
  • Listen to and practice Summertime
