Letter from Maestro Smith (10/14)

WE MADE IT!! Our first complete journey through the tricky first movement of Tchaik was very impressive.  Obviously, there are still a number of musical details to be worked out, but I say again — the progress we have made of this piece is very, very encouraging.  I am extremely impressed and grateful that you can focus so intently on so many important details — kudos!

We will turn to Tan Dun next week.  IMPORTANT — please download the birdsongs onto your phone.  These can be found in the Dropbox in the Scores folder. We will start using these recordings in our rehearsal on Tuesday, so please look at your part, and get that ready.
