“Morning in the Village After Snowstorm” – Malevich 1912
Hello Camerata Vivace!
Thank you for getting into the details today! It was wonderful to hear improvements in confidence on both Bright Lights and the Prokofiev in particular. You will most likely get this weekly update after our Fall Retreat, so let’s look ahead to our next rehearsal: sectionals.

GTCYS 10:
Winds, Brass, Percussion: You’ll be in split sectionals next week where you can really focus on your moments to shine. Particularly in the Prokofiev and Debussy: listen and play through your parts several times leading up to sectional time so you can spend more minutes on higher-level concepts, not just notes and rhythms.
Strings: The Prokofiev needs some work in both your key change to 4-flats. Play through slowly to establish correct finger patterns before speeding up. Similarily, review the Debussy: we will be spending a lot of time on this next rehearsal.
Student Leadership Team:
Details about SLT will be sent out by the end of the month. Look for an email and apply if you’d like to be even more involved with GTCYS this year!
Chamber Music:
We announced this in rehearsal, but Chamber Music applications are open! This is aimed at string players, but woodwinds, brass, and percussion should reach out to me directly with any questions about starting something ourselves! Here is a link with more information: https://gtcys.org/programs/chamber-music
Seating Auditions:
Woodwinds and Brass seating auditions will be on Thursday, October 9th. String Seating auditions will be on Thursday, October 23rd. Repertoire excerpts will be set two weeks in advance for your prearation.
No Easter Egg in this email: but I will have a surprise at the Fall Retreat! See you soon!
Best wishes,
Kaiser
