Letter from Kaiser (3/5)
Hello Camerata Vivace!
Cumulated Landscape, George Morrison, 1976
Open rehearsal was a success! Thank you for bringing friends and family to check out what we do in GTCYS! The energy was palpable, but music making was still at the core of what we do. These pieces needed the dust brushed off, and that we did. Here are some areas to work on, your Ode to Childhood recording, and Winds/Brass part assignment reminders.
GTCYS 10:
Woodwinds: The off-beats in Ballet need to push ahead more, use a metronome, thank you! Any of the 8th note melodic lines also need some work with a metronome.
Brass: The big moments in Lord of the Rings: get them familiar and try them out at varying dynamic levels to really know how to get the sound you want out of the passages.
Percussion: Can we cover more parts in Lord of the Rings? Suspended cymbal is the one that comes to mind. Let’s chat at rehearsal next week. Continue you work on familiarizing yourself with these new pieces.
Strings: Lord of the Rings just needs time practiced. I feel as if there are a lot of melodic moments that are still being “sight-read” and that will need to be gone by next rehearsal. Lastly, work on dynamics in Spanish Dance and Ballet.
Some words from Farhad:
“I cannot express my feelings and gratitude. I am so glad that my work helped them get better.”
“I hope the students and audiences liked the performances. I wish I could’ve been there. Thank you to everyone who made this happen..”
“Thanks again. The email made my day.
All the best
Farhad”
