Letter from Kaiser (11/13)

Happy Fall Festival, Camerata Vivace!

Tonight, we were joined by our colleagues from Symphony to fill in our parts for Bright Lights and Montagues and Capulets, thank you! It was great to hear these pieces come to their full realization just before Fall Festival. I hope you are as excited as I am to showcase your dedication and hard work to an audience at Orchestra Hall.

Fall Festival Reminders from Kaiser:

– Wear concert black, top and bottom, for this performance.

– Continue to watch for tempos and listen to our winds/brass/percussion for balance.

– The Orchestra Hall stage is VERY different than our normal rehearsal home; our sound check will provide us with crucial time to adjust and fine tune our sound.

Your call time is 11:50 in the Atrium at Orchestra Hall, entering from the Peavy Plaza doors. This is the absolute latest you should get there; 5-10 minutes before would be best to provide ample time to warm up. Our sound check on stage is at 12:25 sharp.

I look forward to a beautiful Fall Festival this weekend with all orchestras, and especially am proud to showcase your hard work in the 3:00 concert.

Looking ahead, next week we will have split sectionals to prepare for new repertoire. You will be looking at our holiday music (A Christmas Festival and Ukrainian Bell Carol), but also Ode to Childhood. After celebrating our Saturday performance spend some time before next rehearsal on all of these pieces.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Orchestra Hall

Best wishes,

Kaiser
