Dear Concert Orchestra,

Thanks for doing some good work with Mr. Kaiser at rehearsal last night. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for our open rehearsal! Hopefully it was a blast (I’m sure it was!).

Let’s dig into the following excerpts for next week

Danzon: Beginning to measure 162

Star Wars: Beginning to measure 34, measure 67 to measure 84 (Jar Jar’s introduction).

Measure 67 is a very tricky spot for everyone involved!

For now, let’s have the following folks play the solos at measure 72:

• Oboe: Genevieve
• Bassoon: Asher

*Other players in the section please still spend time with these solos in case of absences*

One final note: Libby Larsen (composer of Overture for the End of a Century) will visit our rehearsal on Monday March 30th! Please keep chipping away at this piece over the next few weeks. We had a decent first performance- but there are many details yet to work out with this one.
