Letter from Jack (3/16)

Dear Concert Orchestra,

Mr. Kaiser had very positive things to say about your rehearsal Monday evening. I’m glad you were able to make some progress!

Here’s the schedule for next week. Note that on Monday March 30th, Libby Larsen (professional award-winning composer) will be attending rehearsal to work with us on overture to the end of a century. Be formulating some thoughtful questions you could field to this fantastic musician.

Next week… Please focus all of your attention on Larsen and Marquez.

For Larsen, I recently heard from Ms. Larsen that the middle section (G to N) should be faster. We’ll implement this change at our next rehearsal.

For Marquez, please focus your attention on measure 220 to the end. We’ll back up and do more of the first half of the piece as time allows.

6:45-7:30: Larsen: Overture for the End of a Century

7:30-8:00: Danzon no. 2 (Focus on measure 220- the end)

8:00-8:15: break/announcements

8:15-8:45: Danzon no. 2 (Focus on measure 220- the end)

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Jack.
