Letter from Diane (5/5)
Dear Camerata Con Brio,
I am so, so proud of your work! At this week’s rehearsal you continued to dig deep and you sound ready for Orchestra Hall on Saturday. I can’t wait to be on stage with you and share our music!
Do you remember our final runs of the Poupel and Dvorak? It was the best you’ve ever played both pieces because:
- You were LISTENING to one-another
- The tempo locked in
- Your phrasing showed musical and emotional maturity
- The technically difficult spots we worked out were fresh in your mind, so you were able to repeat your success
- You were playing musical ideas–not just notes and rhythms
Let’s repeat that beautiful work on Saturday.
Here are the details for Saturday’s Spring Festival at Orchestra Hall
- Call time is 12:15.
- Dress is Concert Black
- Concert is at 2:20
- Bring a snack if you need one and something to do during down time. (Tenzi tournament, anyone?)
Next Tuesday, May 12 is our LAST meeting of the year and we will be meeting from 7:00-8:00. You do not need to bring your instrument unless you want to play your audition piece for me. We will have a Trivia Mafia game, celebrate our success from this year, turn in music and wrap things up for the season. Oh, and treats. There will be treats! If for any reason you are unable to be there, please remember to turn in your GTCYS folder after the Orchestra Hall Concert.
Your GTCYS 10
- Practice for Saturday’s concert
- Make sure you have Jupiter memorized (bowings too!)
- Keep working on your GTCYS audition material.
See you on Saturday! Until then, keep living your life Con Brio!
