Letter from Diane (4/28)
Dear Camerata Con Brio,
Great rehearsal tonight! It was good to debrief on our performance on Saturday with lots of positive shout outs and also some “work outs” (spots we need to keep working on before our Orchestra Hall performance.) I really appreciate how you were able to find things to celebrate while also clearly articulating things that we can still work on. We were able to chase after a lot of details tonight and I hope you left rehearsal feeling rewarded by that work. One more week to get everything to its highest level of polish!
Thank you to all who participated in the Camerata Con Brio Haiku Challenge during the break! I will have GTCYS staff choose a winner, but I also think we should have a “People’s Choice” category where you get to vote. Take a minute to vote here!
On to your GTCYS 10!
- Dvorak with a metronome. You know the drill–don’t rush, don’t slow down–just be on time.
- Poupel–First movement only. Work on a beautiful, in-tune sound while observing dynamics!
- GTCYS audition. Keep working on your audition material. Don’t forget to check tempos on your excerpts and make sure you have listened to a recording of the piece the excerpt was taken from.
How great to end our rehearsal with our ice cream party. Way to go inviting so many people to attend our open rehearsal night! Continue to share that GTCYS love by inviting people you know to audition or to join us for summer camp!
Parents: If you missed the audition information meeting at the end of rehearsal last week, you can view the information I shared here.
Have a great week, and always live your life Con Brio!
